ReadingMonster.com was founded on the principle of providing parents the tools and strategies that teachers use to encourage and enhance reading ability. ReadingMonster.com offers a ten question reading evaluation that is completed by an adult and child. The evaluation determines the child's developmental reading ability. We call this evaluation the "Monster Test". ReadingMonster.com offers a children's Book Store that is leveled by ability. The books are organized into each of the ten reading levels. Parents can buy books at their child's ability level and use the strategies provided for that level to increase reading ability. The books sold on our web site are found in most schools nationwide, but are not sold at traditional bookstores. Melissa Shestack developed ReadingMonster.com on the principal of helping children succeed. Her emphasis is to provide a complete specialized service based on having a detailed knowledge of the reading process. Mrs. Shestack is certified as an Elementary and a Special Education teacher in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She has over five years teaching experience with the majority of that experience in a first grade classroom.
